Universal Central Battery – Series CBM

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • Computer based, self-testing/self diagnostic emergency lighting equipment operating MOONLITE LED™ fixtures and exit signs with all components addressable and integrated throughout, allowing precise monitoring of unlimited numbers of fixtures in multiple locations.

    Status reports are available on demand from any location via internet through a cloud-based server. A wide range of fixtures with specialized optics is available for interior and exterior applications. Automated diagnostics and fully addressable fixtures combined with easy access to batteries and long lamp life ensure the lowest possible life cycle costs.

CONSTRUCTION & OPERATION

  • Automatic monitoring and self-test diagnostic functions supplied as standard, including battery condition, transfer switch, battery charger and emergency fixture load. Optional network includes addressable fixtures.
  • Data transfer via ethernet through a cloud- based server.
  • All diagnostic data is available via internet based cloud server, with automatic reporting of all central battery systems in multiple buildings.
  • Installations with full network controls allow two-way communication and monitoring via internet of unlimited quantities of central battery panels and fixtures throughout multiple buildings, from any location.Standard display includes multicolor diagnostic status LED and Push to Test switch. Optional LCD display provides full operational data on two-line digital display including battery voltage, charge current, load condition, fault monitor and fault description, panel temperature, charge current, date stamp and other information.
  • Optional installed printer will produce complete status and history reports on demand.
  • Two standard 12V SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries supply a minimum of 90 minutes of emergency power from 100 to 1,000 watts at 24 VDC.
  • Batteries are readily available for commercial distributors and can beremoved and replaced in minutes, without ladders, lifts or special tools.
  • Battery capacity and fixture load combinations can be adjusted to supply emergency power for longer periods, as required.

EMERGENCY LIGHTING FIXTURES

  • All models of MOONLITE LED™ fixtures and exit signs are optionally available with individual IP addresses, allowing monitoring of individual lamps in each fixture, with RS485 (Twisted Pair) network, or optional Power Line communication
  • Specialized optics produce elongated beam patterns which increases spacing and reduces the total number of fixtures required to illuminate the path of egress.
  • A wide range of fixture types and models is available, covering many combinations of interior and exterior lighting requirements, from floor level to ceiling heights of 40 ft or higher. See www.signtexinc.com for details.
  • Guaranteed minimum LED life to 70% output in 50,000 hrs provides lowest life cycle costs over a building lifetime.
  • LED driver circuits are equipped with two independent power inputs, allowing both emergency and optional night (normal-on) lighting operation.
  • More than two lamps are supplied in every fixture, driven via parallel circuits with independent current controllers. This design ensures compliance with NEC Code for emergency lighting, ie failure of any single LED shall not cause failure of any other LED
  • LED exit signs have high brightness and uniformity with power consumption of 2 watts.

Universal Central Battery – Series CBL

CONSTRUCTION & OPERATION

  • Supplies emergency power at 24VDC for 90 minutes to any combination of general lighting luminaires fitted with the Series ELC Emergency Lighting Control, MOONLITE LED emergency lighting fixtures, and exit signs.
  • Up to eight 24V emergency branch circuits with wire size from #18AWG to #8AWG can be installed with 1-hour rated metal jacket type “MC” cable, per NEC 700.9 (d)(1). If required, loads may be rated for Class 2 wiring. Hard conduit Class 1 wiring is not required unless specified by local codes.
  • 120 VAC standard input, optional 277, 347 or 480 VAC.
  • NEMA Type 1, UL 50 steel cabinet for surface or optional recess mount.
  • Four CBL models are offered to supply from 100 to 1,000 watts emergency power. Less than 25 watts power consumption in standby mode.
  • Batteries are readily accessible for inspection and maintenance by facilities personnel, allowing timely replacement when indicated by the diagnostic system.
  • 100 or more emergency lighting fixtures and exit signs may be connected to a single central battery panel.
  • Optional installed printer will produce test reports on demand as required by NFPA 101, Paragraph 7.9.3.1.3 (5).

ELECTRONICS

  • Computer-based, self-test/self-diagnostic functions complywith NFPA Life Safety Code 101 (2012) Paragraph 7.9.3.1.3.
  • Automatic self-testing diagnostics is standard, with multicolor LED status display
  • Optional LCD display with diagnostic control center enables RT Clock to set start time for diagnostic testing as required, to avoid test activation of emergency lighting in dark areas or in sensitive areas when building is occupied. Displays show fault reports, battery charge, voltage and current load, battery temperature, and complete fault history.
  • Optional installed printer enables easy compliance with LSC 101 Paragraph 7.9.3 for written reports. Any LCD display can be printed as required.
  • Optional Branch Circuit Load Monitoring automatically reports current flow on 8 individual branch circuits, reducing troubleshooting of possible locations following a fault report (requires LCD option for display).
  • Standard 24V charging system is computer controlled and optimizes current flow for maximum battery life. Optional fast charger recycles system from complete discharge to full capacity in less than 12 hrs.

CERTIFICATION & CODES

  • Listed under UL Standard 924, and meets applicable requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 141, NFPA 101 Para 7.9.3.1.3, and NEC 700.12 (c).

Universal Central Battery – Series LCM

The LCM panel monitors the status of up to nine (9) branch circuits supplying general lighting for egress pathways, and is connected to one or more CBS panels supplying emergency lighting in the same areas, via a 12V normally ON signal. If any monitored circuit breaker is opened or other circuit failure occurs, the 12V signal will turn OFF and the CBS will immediately activate emergency lighting in the area.The LCM enables compliance with NFPA Life Safety Code 101 (2009), Para 7.9.2.3, which states:

The emergency lighting system shall be arranged to provide the required illumination automatically in the event of any interruption of normal lighting due to any of the following:

(1) Failure of a public utility or other outside electrical power supply.

(2) Opening of a circuit breaker or fuse.

(3) Manual act(s), including accidental opening of a switch controlling normal lighting facilities.

Each standard LCM panel is typically installed near a lighting panelboard and can monitor up to nine (9) branch circuits. If the circuits to be monitored are located in different panelboard locations, up to (4) LCM panels may be connected to one CBS panel, to monitor a total of up to (36) branch circuits: (4) sets of signal wiring can be installed using conductors of AWG #20- 22 over distances of more than 1,000 feet from LCM to CBS.

If more than (9) circuits are required to be monitored and are located in a single or nearby panelboard, the standard model MASTER LCM may be connected to up to (2) REMOTE LCM panels, each of which can monitor up to (8) circuits. This allows up to (25) circuits to be monitored with only one 12V signal wire connection to the CBS. Optionally, up to (4) REMOTES may be connected to the MASTER, allowing up to (41) branch circuits to be monitored via the same12V connection.

CONSTRUCTION & OPERATION

  • NEMAType 1, UL 50 steel enclosure for surface (wall) mount, optional recess mount.
  • Solid state switches control up to (9) branch circuits.
  • Available Master-Remote options allow monitoring of up to (41) branch circuits via a single low voltage connection to a CBS panel.
  • Upon loss of power from any monitored circuit breaker, a CBS panel will immediately activate emergency lighting.

General lighting fixtures with ELC may be combined with MOONLITE LED™ emergency luminaires and exits in the central battery system, as required.

  • Typical applications for Type P1 may include down lights or other luminaires with limited space available, in normal power range from 10W to 70W.

  • All Signtex central battery systems Series CBS and CBM include fully automatic self-test, self-diagnostics. Series CBM includes the MARS™ Monitoring and Reporting System which provides cloud-based internet communication and fault reports delivered automatically via email for all components of the emergency system.

Moonlite

Series MLD- Recessed Down Light

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • With spacing up to 55 ft in 9 ft ceilings, this recessed down light with a 4” trim is our most efficient emergency luminaire; very effective in long corridors, it is inconspicuous and will blend with general lighting fixtures without affecting the appearance of ceiling layouts

Series MLS- Surface Mount Down Light

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • This architectural housing design blends well with any environment. All parts are machined from extruded aluminum and can be custom finished at the factory to match any interior design plan
  • All MOONLITE fixtures have a dual lighting function, for normal ambient lighting as well as emergency lighting. The night lighting option delivers big power savings, or can act as a low-energy booster for conventional ambient lighting fixtures. The Security Lighting option can be controlled by an internal time clock, photocell, or from a building management system.

Series MLW – Interior Wall Pack

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • At only 5” x 5” in width and height and 2” profile depth, this unit is the smallest emergency wall pack available. It has high lighting output, allowing fixture spacing up to 45 ft for 1Fc average illumination along the path of egress. The all-aluminum construction can be custom finished to match any interior.
  • All MOONLITE fixtures have a dual lighting function, for normal ambient lighting as well as emergency lighting. The night lighting option delivers big power savings, or can act as a low-energy booster for conventional ambient lighting fixtures.

Emergence Self-Luminous Series EMA

CONSTRUCTION

  • Internally illuminated by self- luminous tritium gas lamps with guaranteed luminous life up to 20 years, as specified.
  • Observation tested for visibility up to 125 ft in complete darkness.
  • NO electrical connections, NO heat generated, and NO maintenance required for the life specified, up to 20 years. Suitable for use in wet locations.
  • Output at 525 nanometer wavelength (Green)provides maximum visibility in low ambient brightness.
  • No external light required for activation.

OPERATION

  • Double- wall housing of extruded aluminum with minimum wall thickness of .09" (2.3mm). No visible mounting hardware.
  • Standard finishes: satin anodized brushed aluminum (natural), or Black. Optional finishes available in any custom anodized or painted enamel color.
  • Polycarbonate faceplate window of .125 (3 mm) minimum thickness.
  • Universal field adjustable chevron arrows and universal mounting brackets.
