Products / Central Battery System / Universal Central Battery - Series CBS

OPERATION

  • Provides power to any combination of Signtex emergency lighting products.
  • Solves battery maintenance problems by allowing easy access to batteries for inspection and timely replacement when indicated by the diagnostic system. No need to inspect every individual standard type fixture as required by the Life Safety Code.
  • 120/277 VAC standard input voltage. Less than 200 watts average power consumption in normal mode.
  • The 1000 watt model is capable of running up to 100 Signtex emergency lighting fixtures and exit signs.
  • With the night/security lighting option, central systems will run all fixtures required for night lighting, at very low power and maintenance compared to
    any conventional lighting.
  • Models available in a range from 100 to 1000 watts deliverable over 90 minutes.

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Section 26 52 00- Emergency Lighting is available in Word format (.doc)
  • One- Line layout for the CBS is available for direct insertion into engineering drawings- .dwg file format.

CONSTRUCTION

  • A steel cabinet listed to UL 50 encloses batteries, charger, control circuit and optional DC power supply for night/security lighting.
  • Classified as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) per NEC 700.12.
  • Manual test switch and diagnostic status indicators are easy to view and access.
  • Automatic self-testing and battery diagnostics are standard.
  • Optional recessed mount available.
  • Low voltage output at 24 VDC allows feeder circuit wiring in 1-hour rated metal jacket type “BX” cable, per NEC 700.9 (d)(1), reducing installation costs.

CODES

  • Meets applicable requirements of UL Standard 924, NFPA 101, and NEC 700.12 (c)
